Breakfast at the Topside Inn is an event, and a major part of what makes a stay at our Inn so unique and special. It is an opportunity for our guests to taste the wonderful foods our local farmers and fisherman produce, much of the locally sourced ingredients come from our nearby farmer’s market or our own gardens. Our guests start their mornings with an array of continental offerings including Maine-roasted coffee, fresh fruit, homemade granola & yogurt, homemade baked goods, jams & preserves and fresh whipped butters. Our creative deviled eggs are always a big hit.
Each morning we offer a different composed dish cooked to order. This is where our local ingredients have the opportunity to really shine and where we get to put twists on traditional favorites. Lemon mascarpone pancakes with blueberry compote or gingerbread waffles with bourbon compound butter and buttermilk syrup are possibilities on our sweet days. On savory days, our menu may include farm fresh eggs Benedict on a lobster cake with tarragon hollandaise sauce and a tomato salad picked that morning from our garden or homemade and pan seared gnocchi with locally foraged mushrooms, crispy prosciutto and shaved parmesan cheese and a sunny side egg.
